We offer three different lengths of lessons to best suit your requirements:

30 mins – £19

45 mins – £28

60 mins – £36

No, we only teach one to one. Each lesson is completely tailored to you! This enables you to not only progress successfully at your own pace, but you’ll also be learning the music you actually enjoy and want to play.

Unfortunately not. We have everything we need to teach professional lessons at our Guitarlab base, and moving that equipment around is just not feasible. We would also be forced to charge for our travel time, making lessons unnecessarily expensive. However, we do offer online lessons if you are unable to travel to our premises.

For your free trial lesson, yes, absolutely. Following this, you will need an instrument of your own to practice and play at home.

There are two excellent guitar shops not far from us: Andertons in Guildford and Guitar Village in Farnham. The teams at both are very helpful and will offer trustworthy advice to ensure you find the right instrument to suit your needs. Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree and other online shopping platforms are also great for second-hand instruments. Still not sure what you need or where to turn? Speak to your guitar teacher after your free trial.

Absolutely. Bring it to your free trial lesson and we can assess it. Often they just need a good clean up and a set of fresh strings.

Yes, we do. Contact us to arrange a time and date then bring it in!

Unfortunately not. Anything more than basic restrings and tweaks will require a specialist.

We require an upfront payment for a month at a time (or for the remainder of month if joining part way through) to secure your slot with your guitar teacher. We accept BACS, cash and debit/credit cards.

Invoices are sent out on the 20th of each month and are due by the 25th.

Yes, during term time, with optional lessons in summer.

No, we take two weeks off for Christmas and Easter, and one week for half-terms. Lessons are optional over the summer. We teach about 39 weeks a year, excluding the summer holidays.

No. In the past we’ve found that students on a fortnightly schedule gave up learning at a much higher rate than our weekly students. We don’t want this to happen to you, so we no longer offer fortnightly lessons.

We use an online calendar where you can postpone your lesson, this will mean having two lessons in a future week. We do not offer refunds for lessons not taken.

No. Progress is only possible with regular effort, so we only offer weekly lessons.

We don’t ask you to sign a contract, simply let us know and your lessons will be stopped. Please note, we do not offer a refund for any unused lessons.

No. If you’ve had a busy week, coming to your lesson is the perfect chance to catch up and get back into the swing of things!

No. If you have missed lessons (and given at least 24 hours notice) you can catch them up, but they will not be refunded or deducted from future invoices.

Absolutely. There are some very large and very small people that play guitar, hand size has not held them back.

Almost everyone that claims they are tone deaf are mistaken. If someone plays the lowest note on a piano followed by the highest note, and you are able to tell which was which? Then you are not tone deaf! We teach ear training at Guitarlab to aid you on your guitar-learning journey.
